Pizza Hut Pete - "dangler" sticker - early 1970's

From the same great Ebay lot as my other two Pizza Hut stickers.

Another early 1970s Pizza Hut sticker. I call this one "The Dangler" since Pete is just dangling the logo there.

Again had to clean this one up a bit, but could only do so much. Up close the screen print becomes pretty rough... but I managed to remove the stains that were on it.

Another day-glo sticker, designed to catch your attention with it's unnaturally birght colors.

Pizza Hut Pete - Love Pizza Power Sticker - Early 1970's

This is another Pizza Hut Pete sticker sheet from a lot I snagged on Ebay.

I like this one because it's so GROOVY. Very peace-n-love and pizza, right? I'm guessing this comes to us from around 1972, but there's no date on the sticker sheet itself.

A PIZZANIK? I guess that's sort of like a beatnik.. but with pizza...???

I had to do a significant amount of restoration on this one in Photoshop, as there was some kind of rot going on with this sheet. Unfortunately, it appears as if the original screen-print on this sheet didn't take too well. But we take what we can get.

After my restoration efforts, I put the die-cut lines back in manually.

Pizza Hut - Pizza On The Double Bumper Sticker - Early 1970's

This is an early-to-mid 70s Pizza Hut bumper sticker.

Got it on Ebay. Cleaned it up, as my original is pretty dirty. The original colors are day-glo, so I matched them as closely as possible in Photoshop.

It's a fun one, and features Pizza Hut Pete. A left-behind Pizza Hut mascot. You can learn more about him over here at:

Plymouth Barracuda Sticker

Here's another cool 70s car sticker. This one is for the Plymouth Barracuda. Cool, huh??

Captain Crunch - Keep On Crunchin' - Bumper Sticker - 1970's

This is one of several cool Captain Crunch cereal premiums. It's a bumper sticker, I THINK from the late 70's, although it could be from the 80's. I'm not sure.

Captain Crunch - I'm Lost - Bumper Sticker - 1970's

This is one of several cool Captain Crunch cereal premiums. It's a bumper sticker, I THINK from the late 70's, although it could be from the 80's. I'm not sure.

Captain Crunch - Got Your Ears On - Bumper Sticker - 1970's

This is one of several cool Captain Crunch cereal premiums. It's a bumper sticker, I THINK from the late 70's, although it could be from the 80's. I'm not sure.

7-Up Peace Give Un - Sticker Decal

This is a 7-up window decal. It's clear.. and designed to be put on a window. Which.. I guess... is pretty clear. Har har...

Argentinian Star Wars Stickers - 1977

These stickers are odd, and are from 77 or 78. The come from Argentina... the home of all strange Star Wars items. I got them on Ebay from a seller in Argentina, appropriately enough.

Post Super Sugar Crisp Logo

I cleaned up and isolated the logo from the classic 1970s Super Sugar Crisp... I wanted to create a sticker for a project, and although I love him, I left Super Sugar Bear out of this one.

Marathon Candy Bar wrapper re-creation - 1970's

This is another one of my "candy re-draws". Basically just brought in a crude jpeg found online of the old wrapper and cleaned it up, and re-drew it, using my rudimentary Photoshop skills. All to remind me of my favorite candy bar from my youth. Marathon bar, lasts a good long long long long time....

For those that don't know, Marathon bars were produced from (I think) 1972-1981. They were a braided flat piece of chocolate-covered caramel. The Brits still make the same treat, but theirs is called a Curly Wurly bar (by Cadburry). Just had one recently, and it's quite yummy!

Plymouth Duster Tornado Guy Sticker - 1970's

This is a cleaned up image of a cool vintage sticker that promoted the classic muscle car of the same name. Great little cartoon dust devil. My older brother's first car was a Duster, and we had some silly fun in it, until we were hit by a stray tire that blew off an 18-wheeler. Long story!!

Sprite Race Car Sticker - 1960's

An old, early 70s or early 60s soda sticker. Got this one on Ebay because I thought it was cool. That, and I like to spend my disposable income on vintage pieces of paper that stick onto other things.

Marshall Mallow - Hot Chocolate - Sticker

Just got this one on Ebay. It's a sticker from an old Hot Chocolate. There's a new sherriff in town, and he's got.... marshmallows?!? Criminals always did give in to the taste of good hot chocolate, and Hostess Fruit Pies. :-) Groovy.

Nice to See You - Sticker - Bruce Forsyth

From the lot of UK stickers I acquired. If anyone can identify this guy, comment it. I THINK he was some kind of UK television host. And I'm guessing his "tag line" was NICE TO SEE YOU. But I'm not sure. He was big enough to be made into a sticker! If you know his name, lemme know!

Top of the Pops Sticker

Yep, another one in the series from the UK. This is one of the uniquely UK-related stickers from the set, since it is of the British music TV show, Top of the Pops.

David Soul - Superstar - Starsky and Hutch - Sticker

Another sticker from a lot I found on Ebay. This one is from the UK and I'm not sure of the origin.

The Fonz Stay Cool Happy Days - Sticker

This is a sticker that I found on Ebay. It came with several other similar-sized stickers. So I have to guess they were available together. These are from the UK however, and many of the stickers were of cricket players.

Wonka Candy Club Sticker - 1982

Got these on Ebay, and I think they're great. Sort of like a style guide to the early 80's candy characters that appeared on Wonka branded candy. Very fun. According to the Ebay'er I got these from, you had to mail away to the candy club to receive these great stickers.

Kraft Koogle

Kraft Koogle, originally uploaded by JasonLiebig-stickers.

I really liked this old Koogle graphic, so I cleaned it up, and here it is. Koogle was a flavored spread that Kraft put out in the mid-70s. Flavors that I recall: Banana, Chocolate. Mmmmmm... Koogle.

GI Joe Money

GI Joe Money, originally uploaded by JasonLiebig-stickers.

This was a little Photoshop project of mine. I wanted to see if I could make an image to look like currency. Using some tips, and a photo I took of a GI Joe head, this is what I came up with. Not practical, but more of a "can I do this?" kind of project.

Kennedy Space Center Sticker - 1970's

This is a vintage souvenir sticker from the early 70's or late 60's. It's the Kennedy Space center and the cool graphics feature one of the space programs old Saturn rockets (I think). The same kind we launched a man to the moon on.

I visited the Kennedy Space Center with my family back in 1976, though I picked this neat souvenir up on Ebay.

Nasa Moon Landing 10th Anniversary Bumper Sticker - 1979

This Nasa bumper sticker was apparently released in 1979 to commemorate the 10th annivesary of the moon landing. Fun stuff.

Fly Navy Skylab Bumper Sticker - 1976

Another cool 1970s bumper sticker. This one is a typical Navy recruitment idea, but it mentions Skylab 1 & 2 as well? Not sure why. But we all remember when Skylab was falling right?

Fearless & Fannie Falstaff - Waterskiers - Sticker - 1970's

Here's a great 1970s beer sticker for Falstaff. My brother and I had these as kids, but these are from a set that I found on an auction site. Fearless and Fannie are the two characters and they would take their beer and go do all sorts of dangerous activities.. while drinking, I guess. The 70s were a wild and liberating time.

Fearless & Fannie Falstaff - Motorcyclers - Sticker - 1970's

Here's a great 1970s beer sticker for Falstaff. My brother and I had these as kids, but these are from a set that I found on an auction site. Fearless and Fannie are the two characters and they would take their beer and go do all sorts of dangerous activities.. while drinking, I guess. The 70s were a wild and liberating time.

Vintage Hot Tamales Longer Box - re-creation

This is an "illustration" I did of a vintage Hot Tamales box. I used a crude jpeg found online and created this over the top of it. Kinda fun... although I would have much preferred to just find an old Hot Tamales box on Ebay... but I couldn't. Anyone got one??

Hot Tamales Kid

Hot Tamales Kid, originally uploaded by JasonLiebig-stickers.

This is an illustration of the Hot Tamales kid that I did. It was the first step I took in re-creating an old Hot Tamales candy box, since I couldn't find a real one on Ebay. I used crude jpegs I found online for reference.

JCPenny "Super Denim" Robot Sticker - Mid-1970s

This is a little sticker that was put on pairs of kids jeans at JCPenny in the mid-to-late-70's. So it's a great old 1970's sticker. They were about 1" tall, maybe bigger. My grandmother and my mother talked the sales clerk into giving my brother and I a sheet of these things. Anyone know what this campaign with the jeans-testing-robot was called???

Radio Shack Bumper Sticker CB Radio - 1970's

This is a mid-1970's Radio Shack bumper sticker. So you could let everyone know you had a CB in your car or truck. Neat!!

Ditwads Bumper Sticker - 1986

I think this is a Bumper Sticker from an Omaha Nebraska Radio Station. It's from the mid-80's

Nebraska Cornhuskers 1984 Orange Bowl Penant

This is a great old Nebraska Penant I have from the 1984 Orange Bowl! GO BIG RED!!!

Worlds Of Fun Bumper Sticker

Worlds of Fun Bumper Sticker. Worlds of Fun Kansas City Missouri. Great place!! Not a real bumper sticker, but one I mocked up, using a poor jpeg found online and a few other Worlds of Fun items.

Topps Fantasy Sleestak Sticker Land of the Lost

A fantasy sticker. Topps didn't do a Land of the Lost card set, but if they did... this is what one of the stickers would have looked like. I created this in Photoshop - the Sleestak head image came from an old Dynamite magazine cover.

Land of the Lost was one of my favorite shows from the mid-1970's. They had some quality Sci-Fi writers working on the show, and it really set it apart.

I'd say about half of the show's episodes were a bit silly, the other half really moved along a compelling continuity, and super-story, for the "Land of the Lost".

While I was at Marvel Comics I batted around the idea of getting the license from Krofft, and revisiting the characters and world, some 20 years later. I drew up a treatment, and even had the first issue pretty well figured out. Problem was, we never got it out-of-house. So Krofft never saw it.

From what I understand there's a Land of the Lost movie coming out, but it is likely going to be a Ben Stiller/Will Ferrel type of comedy remake, rather than any kind of revisiting of that fun sci-fi stuff. And I suspect they've made the proper decision, financially-speaking.

Still, I'll always have my secret knowledge of what became of Will and Holly Marshall... long after the Land of the Lost stopped producing episodes. ;-)

PEARL HARBOR Window Travel Decal - 1950's

This is an old window decal from the 50's or 60's. Fun stuff.

I Love Commodore - Sticker - 1980's

An old Commodore 64 bumper sticker.

7-Up Peter Max-Style Big Sticker - 1960's or 70's

This is a cleaned-up image of a cool Peter Max-ish design used by 7-Up in the late 60's or early 70's. Pretty fun stuff... and very funky graphics.

Weeki Wachee Bumper Sticker - 1960's

This is a Weeki Wachee bumper sticker from the 50's or 60's. Weeki Wachee is still around and they have "Live Mermaid" shows. Pretty fun stuff. My family visted there in 1976... the Bi-Centennial year. Yep, it was this, then on to Walt Disney World. We were lucky kids.
